Blossoms remarkably stir my soul. Colors created by a Master Artist, are almost impossible to recreate in the human palette. I have no choice when I'm graced with an amazing rose, (favorite) to explore each petal with its mystery unfolding. The painting must draw the viewer into an imagined fragrance. Or elicit memories of a lovely garden, freshened with the dew.
Animals are not inhibited. They show how they feel, they do not bottle emotions or make out something they are not. Their habitat changes with every species and they make for me, endless subjects of challenge, be it fur, fin or feathers.
I like to paint people I don't know. There is no conflict of hidden emotions. I am not there to judge, but to catch an image, as if in the moment. The eyes open to the soul, if one is quick to capture. Often I will take reality and add abstraction.
